Fare finding tips
To help you find the best fares, we would like to offer you some insider suggestions:
Visit the DAE website regularly and be the first to catch the best deals.
If you need to travel during high season (especially on the first and last days of a school break), plan to book in advance or expect to pay a premium price. Seats sell out quickly during these periods of the year and the best ticket fares are the first to be sold. It is also common for there to be more sales during the low season as more seats are available.
The closer the booking date is to departure less are your chances of finding the best ticket fares as these are always the most sought after and have a limited number of seats available.
Please keep in mind that the lowest fares are more restrictive in their conditions and require careful travel planning. Penalties for change of the lowest fares will be higher than with more premium fares. Depending on the certainty of your travel schedule, it may be worthwhile to buy a less restrictive ticket rather than paying a penalty for changes if you expect that the need will arise.
Be prepared to fly during off-peak times if your schedule is flexible to find the best deals. Inter-island flights typically offer the best deals during mid day or late in the evening, as start and end of business day hour flights are most popular.
While weekend flights typically fill up the earliest, find the best deals during off-peak weekdays.
Don't hesitate to ask our ticket agents for advice. They will be more than happy to help you find the flight and price that best meets your needs.
